What a Lovely Birthday!
I had a fabulous birthday. Instead of listing all the things we did I'll tell you the story of this picture. We went to the sea. The North East of England has the best and emptiest beaches in the UK. We went to Alnwick and found a favourite stretch of beach nearby. We live 40 miles from the sea, and even further from the scenic bits, so I don't go as often as I would like to. So when I do get there, I like to walk straight down to the sea to say hello.
I was standing on the edge of the sea when I turned to watch Poppy who was sidling up to another dog in an anxious way. I watched their progress for a while, long enough for the seventh wave to come along and dump itself down my wellies.
A pint of sea water in each wellie.
Thank you to everyone who wished me well. I am blessed to have such friends.
The mat is finished and photos will be posted here very soon. I think it looks lovely!
Love the retrospective! It's nice you took the time to do that;and I'm glad your birthday went well too. I was up your way this weekend; I love Durham and Northumbria & I had a fine time at the Metro centre. You're so lucky to live in such a beautiful and striking area of the country. Have a good birthday week, because all the best birthdays last a week (or more, if you can make them!)

We clicked on the picture to get full size and then made a gorgeous print which will be shown to a lot of people. You seem to have had a really lovely day and the icing on the cake was having such an expert photographer in Owen. Well done to all concerned.
