One Happy Boy

Pauline asked Owen a few months ago what sort of knitted thing he would wear and without much thought he said 'a big coat'. This arrived on Friday and he is thrilled with it

What an amazing gift! Pauline doesn't use patterns or worry about knitting tension swatches. She is a very intuitive knitter and one of the loveliest people I know.

Training walk at Craster at the weekend. These are the tulips at Howick Gardens which are well worth a visit and not just for the afternoon tea

The Northumberland coast is one of the best places to walk - the smell of the gorse was intoxicating

the company was good too

but that one next to Sue didn't walk as far as us.....

I love the coat, what lovely colours and an intricate pattern!

Did you go far on your walk? We haven't yet ventured much higher than Alnwick, strangely enough. We keep meaning to go to Bamburgh, Seahouses and Craster - but for some reason it hasn't happened yet! Something we'd like to rectify this summer.

I have a flickr account, but I didn't get on with it, so my husband went one better and made me my own gallery (the air was blue at times!). You can find it at http://gallery.vintagepretty.org

Thanks for your lovely comment :)

That coat is fantastic.
I can't believe you said something complimentary about gorse although it does smell nice. In Australia it is a noxious weed.
Never trust a naked woman on a sea monster, they are always lazy.

MY GOODNESS LOOK AT THAT TEA. Why do i live in arizona? why?!

That coat is a work of art. Good luck with your walking. That cream tea must have been even more enjoyable after all that exercise.

Dude. that coat is amazing!!! i will borrow it on my return x x x

I don't think you'll have a chance MArtha - he never takes it off!

Like Joseph's coat... and we all know he went far! Lovely post... I'd happily eat the scones!

umm.. that coat!? Who is Pauline, and how can I be friends with her?

Sounds like a lovely day- yum- cream and scones!

That really is an amazing coat and your countryside is amazing too.

What a fantastic coat!!! The afternoon tea looks delicious and don't you think gorse smells like coconut.

Wow look at that knitted coat !! He must be thrilled ... how amazing.
