Having fun....
..... with a packet of stick on eyes I found in the Oxfam shop
and my favourite - secretly put on Holly's front door
Oh! How shocking!
I'll tell you what else is shocking - this weather! raining again as I write which means another day of enforced sewing in the shed!
Or knitting - Kate's DK yarn is being put to good use - more of this later! (yes that is three completely different dpns)
But to end on a gloomy note - they have arrived.....
There goes my personality.

I love the googly eyes, great fun!

Hi Katie,
Love the eyes on the front door -definitely the best! Don't worry, no uniform could ever supress YOUR personality!!!!! (Does it specify what kind of socks you have to wear?????)

I so LOVE those eyes, such fun. That knitting looks lovely, can not get to grip with beads in my knitting.

The eyes look good. I always thought midwives wore uniforms - shows how out of touch I am. Never mind at least it saves on the washing!

As soon as my wrist is up to the task, you will one crocheted corsage coming your way. Uniforms. Sigh.......
The stickers are very funny!

Was there anything in the uniform memo about customising? I reckon there's some fun to be had with 'a little lace along the seams'.
I love Holly's new door furniture - what a great eye you have, Kate.

I know just how you feel as I felt the same way when I got put in uniform at the bank. For eight years I'd been allowed to dress myself then sadly it all ended when the bank took on a new look with dark grey pinstripes and pail blue shirts ... how boring.

Oh no, they're not making you wear a nurses uniform. How awful and why? Surely that is stepping back to the past. No grown woman should be forced to wear a uniform unless she is in the armed forces and needs to let people know which side she is on. Are you going to wear the knitted wrist warmers with it to add a touch of Katie?

Kate, Your personality will still shine through, I'm sure!!
Love what you've done with the eyes!!
You've just been nominated ... see my blog for details!

Love the eyes on everything, fabulous! We were in Hexham at the weekend, had a lovely time. Now the uniform would be *much* nicer if it was a slightly less harsh shade of blue, less Royal more turquoise or azure!

i just bought the first of the wee one's 14 years of plaid jumpers and peter-pan collared blouses. as adorable as she looks, my heart cries a little. i've (over)compensated by telling her she can wear whatever she wants out of school as long as she's decent. maybe i'll put googly-eyes on her hairbows.
