Autumn in Langley Woods

So ... a complete change from the dinosaurs, here is my walk with the dog yesterday. The light is wonderful sometimes!

This is a picture I take at all times of the year to record how the seasons change  - its the line of a disused railway and it is one of my favourite walks with Poppy - I can go for a short or l-o-n-g walk depending on time and mood and just keep walking along the track!

This is another thing I photograph often - at different times of the year and as the years go by and it falls a little bit further into decay.

There is a lake next to the track and here is a fallen tree reflected in the water.
I was all reflective too and remembering the Andy Goldsworthy art that I love so much, had a go at my own with the beech leaves.

They look good on the tree though - Nature knows how to arrange her leaves!

I just love the multitude of shades on those leaves. Gorgeous.

Your leaf art is fantastic Katie - especially like the ripple and the way the colours change so subtley (sp?). I am beginning to notice autumn so much more now that I have been reading everyone's blogs - I sort of forgot to notice for a while! Lucy x

Beautiful leaves! A walk and art, what a wonderful walk!

Love the leave art also. Looks a wonderful area to walk.

Gorgeous, Katie!

oh, gosh, when i saw your photos on flickr i was going to mention goldsworthy. my son gave me his book-TIME. great to walk with you in the woods!

What a great walk, I really like that old house, have you had a look inside?

Love the leaf snake! Very cool Katie!

Lovely! I need a walk in the woods.

your beech leaf snake is fantastic! you've got the colours just right, it must have taken you a while. have you been to the andy goldsworthy exhibition at the yorkshire sculpture park? i can thoroughly recommend it.

Beautiful photos, how lucky to live near such a place. I agree that blogging makes you take a look around you more and I'm enjoying this autumn so much.

Love the photo's, thanks for the tour.

I ave to say Katie, I prefer you media of beech leaves to Andy Goldsworthy's cow and sheep poo. Great art - but come on Andy! Yuck

I love your autumn-photos!Wonderful!

Beautiful colors of the autumn.
Kind regards,

Sonnja, from the Netherlands

Love the Goldsworthy-esq snake - I love his stuff too, such a clever artful chap.

Your walk looks lovely, I've heard of Langley woods; there is also a place, not too far from you (Allen Banks & Staward Gorge) that I've been meaning to re-visit for ages but haven't had the chance... Northumberland is a pretty amazing place!

What a lovely place for a walk! All those lovely autumn colours, just crying out to be photographed!

Exciting news - I have my shed at last!! It's classed as a garden office or studio, but I think it will become 'Sue's Space!' rather than anything else.
