Felt magic

Many months ago, my dear friend Holly asked me if I would teach a felt making workshop in November. This was about August and it seemed like a million years in the future so I agreed without thinking too much. And now it is in the past, and I can't work out where the intervening time went?
Yesterday was a wet murky day, just right for spending among like minded people in a lovely place with COLOUR!
Fibre
Everyone got the hang of the magical process of turning that wonderful soft stuff into a variety of felted item. We were making necklaces and other nice things to wear so there was lots of rolling going on.

When you give people the same materials and instructions, I love watching what they do. Combinations of colour that I would never think of, but that work so well.

Mind your fingers! Sally gets down to some needle felting here. Matt made his without realising it matched his clothes!

What a lovely thing to do and what a lovely group of very happy people. We particularly love to see the youngster who is clearly enjoying her day. Well done.
Mum and Dad.

Looks like the perfect afternoon.

What fun! I especially love the spiky hair scrunchie.

WOW! That looks like so much fun, I've always fancied a go at felt-making. Will you be doing this again next year? Would love to come a long if you are. Where do you find out about crafty goings on in Northumberland?

Keep up the good work, I'm sure the people of Hexham will love their swanky plastic bag alernatives.

p.s. you mentioned your daughter posted the onion-dyed wool from Bristol- is she studying there? I'm a 3rd year Bristol linguist and it's the best place for knitting :D You can't beat GetKnitted in Brislington for supplies and the the uni has a knitting society (we were in Simply Knitting!)

I'm in my third year of theology. I've never been to knitting though because it clashes with yoga.

What fun...everyone looks so happy...Love the picture of Matt with his matching work of art! Funny how the sub concious works!!!

onwards russia, onwards!

I love that your Dad was the first comment, beautiful. Felting amazes me, as you say, give everyone the same medium but they all turn our unique.

You obviously made a lot of people very happy. And no doubt there'll be even more happy people on 25 December when your pupils give all sorts of felted presents. I especially liked the photo of the matching jumper and felted item. I always seem to end up making something that matches whatever I'm wearing at the time.

That looks like a lot of fun!
