A Visit From Gloria
Art Tour is nearly upon us which means some - many - hours spent in the shed making things. it also means another Big Shed Tidy Up and I wasn't looking forward to it one bit. The shed had become a messy place full of scraps of fabric, piles of papers and all sorts of 'things' that may come in useful one day. With the first Art Tour date being about a week and a half away I was putting off the Big Clean for when I was in the mood.Well - forget all that because I had a visit from Gloria. Now the shelves are tidy
the drawers are too
and the fabric is all colour coordinated - nice ... the books sorted by category ... what?
the carpet is clean and the strawberry rug had a beating
and we are nearly ready to go.
But I think we may have peaked too soon - open studios are 8th June for four Sundays and this is still May. I think Gloria will have to come again and check that I have not messed the place up! Everyone needs a friend like Gloria.
Thank you - for you and for anyone else who needs a bunch of virtual flowers

That looks amazing. I would just look at the pretty stuff on the shelves and not be able to decide what to do next!

Yippee!! A visit to Katie's shed. I only wish I lived nearer so I could come and see it 'in person'. I wouldn't be able to confess who I was tho'. I've become a bit of a cringey Superfan of your shed. I'd be embarrassed to admit who I was :0).
Please can you send Gloria down to the Midlands next? I need a miracle worker to sort out my craft room. Square peg and round hole are two phrases that spring to mind when I look at the amount of stuff I have and the size of the room, but it's all 'useful'. hehe

thanks for the flowers!
I would have to tidy that again- there is NO WAY I could keep my room tidy for that long!

I love the feeling of everything being tidy and in its place. I also love your strawberry rug!

So much neatness makes me want to get crafty. Your strawberry rug looks amazing, would you consider a tutorial? Have a lovely sunny weekend in the shed.

How far away from Lancashire does Gloria live? We have a Glory hole that could do to be Gloria-fied. (Its my work room actually)

That looks simply perfect. Gloria could make a career out of that sort of thing, I could've done with her when I tidied my desk this afternoon...

Would love to attend. A good friend to have. Organization helps clear ones head.

Hi Katie!
I'm off on my long flight to London today then next week is the start of my Eurailing trip. Not quite as adventurous as you, doing France-Italy-Spain and cramming it in on a youth pass before my 26th birthday. Great tips that you wrote, I just finished last minute packing and I agree with everything you've said (eerily, I had packed a roll of double-sided tape for my journal, thinking I was innovative and maybe a bit obsessed)! My mum manages to get circular knitting needles on board international flights, but I won't bring any since I'll just have to mail the knitting home. Thanks again!

Your shed is wonderful - such a haven. We have a back-bedroom which inevitably ends up serving the same purpose, however when it comes to tidying it I'm at a loss and usually call Mr. VP in to help. He's very good at sorting and tidying.
Good luck with the art tour, I'd so love to visit but my hours are still difficult to do so - and as yet all Sundays are currently working ones. :(

Hi Katie - I was thinking it had been a bit quiet in your neck of the woods and then discovered that you had disappeared off my google reader thingy! Glad to have got you back there again! Your shed will always be fabulous whether it is tidy or not! Will you be posting about the dates of Art Tour?

Ooooh what a lovely shed! I am planning to come and admire it in person during the Art Tour and be inspired all over again! (PS I have sneakily given you an award but you'll have to pop over to Tart's Tales to see what it is...)
