I remember my parents' chickens used to do this - when they first started laying you'd get this teeny tiny egg - sort of like a trial run really! Then when I had hens here my next door neighbour climbed over the fence (quite a high one!) and put a huge shop bought brown egg in with my tiny little bantam ones - having carefully sanded off the lion brand mark and re-stained it with fake tan!!!! The man is mad! But it really made us all laugh!
Another hen post--I loved your first post on your hens, explaining all the preparations you made before you even got them. It's exciting that they are laying eggs, but hopefully they'll stick with the larger size.
Have a great day. Oh, by the way, I was tagged today & I now need to tag you! If you want to play along, just check my blog for the questions I'd love to hear you answer...
I just saw the picture with the two eggs over on flickr and it made me smile! You'll have to draw straws to see who gets the little egg for breakfast!
