Bit of a rant

OK - I can't stop myself - here is the full force of my current petty dislike. First, I love Firefox - it means I can click link after link and have them all lined up for a morning browse with a cup of coffee. Its what I'm doing now. BUT - here's the thing - I can't bear those music things that a few people have on their side bar. If it is a blog I know then I scroll down and disable it - but  - like now - I have about 15 sites sitting there waiting for me to visit. One of them has someone's favourites blaring out at me - and I don't know which one it is so I can't close the window. But I am listening to Radio 4!
GRRR!!!
So in fact, I am listening to nothing until find it. Sometimes, there are two or more. It is confusing. Am I the only grumpy blogger to find this endlessly annoying?

Caerlaverock Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust get a visit from the Jacksons - snappy title eh?

I love living on an island, albeit a very big one. It means we have a lot of coast and plenty of places to see amazing things. The Caerlaverock Wildfowl reserve is about and hour and a half away and at this time of year has thousands of barnacle geese and a great many whooper swans. They don't get on at feeding times

but left alone they make some great shapes with their necks!

and who doesn't love an upside down swan?

On the home front, more tidying and painting and even a bit of wallpapering are all making the shed look wonderful and my new iPod is rapidly filling up with great music to play in there - any suggestions?

Tidying up - taking forever

I launched into a huge clean up of all my craft stuff. I am drowning in an avalanche of fabric, fibre and wool. Why did I think this would be a good idea? There is snow outside and stacks and stacks of stuff inside - I can't escape in either direction. So instead I am making a birthday cake for my boy who is no longer a boy.

 

and I expect his brother will get a piece too
