Sorry to tease you with odd pictures of stairs and the like - today, in a very quiet, understated way, I opened the door of my new little shop a crack to see who would like to pop in. I had my new till and lots of lovely things - mine and some from other talented friends and .... well ..... it went very well!
Here are some lovely candles, from my friend Ted. Some really great printed posters from Lu - you can see my coloured in effort on the left there - such fun!
People really enjoyed having a go at the shop copy today
And some nice cards - everyone loves a nice card!
And my sofa for longer visits!
and here is the counter Geoff made and I decorated, with some bits and pieces slowly filling it up... more needed!
and here you have the tall shelves with - oh joy! Rosie Flo! and wonderful crayons - (Ferby) and more goodies....
there is an upstairs too - you know that - up the colouful steps to
my WORKSHOP! Still being filled up with treasures from my poor shed - which is a bit sad and stripped bare now - but I will restore it to my home based workshop soon!
I will be adding finishing touches here for a long time yet - but the SHOP is now officially open for business and I welcome anyone within striking distance to come for a visit!
and what is this shop called?
MAKE
recycled craft workshop
Allen Mill, Allendale.
(Northumberland UK of course) sorry not to be able to welcome my worldwide visitors!
oh - and one of these outside!
Thank you to everyone who has either helped me get this far or who has endured listening to me over the past few months!

Well done Katie, it looks amazing. I really admire you for doing it. Such a shame I am in Yorkshire all weekend but I will be there soon! I hope it is everything you wanted it to be x

That place looks wonderful! The page about the whole set-up is interesting -- great setting, great idea! And a shop and workshop and all so pretty! Well, next time I'm in the neighbourhood...

I wish we weren't quite so far away!
What fun, congratulations and all the best for a prosperous shop. Are you following the Duchess of Devonshire's business bible?
(for those who don't know she swore by Ginger and Pickles by Beatrix Potter as the best business guide available).
