please can I have your fairy cake recipes?
I have a plan
edited to add a picture from Google images to help Lindsay from Serendipity and my other dear readers from across the Atlantic
edited yet again to add Alison has pointed out that the picture is quite possibly more accurately a butterfly cake and NOT a fairy cake and I am inclined to agree with her. So what IS a fairy cake then?
Another edit! Charlotte has introduced the idea of the Baking Fairy! Whatever next - she who 'allows your cakes to rise' Well - this explains everything - my fairy cakes are often small and unrisen - obviously not enough squabbling about the bowl.
she has cleared up the distinction between 'fairy' and butterfly' the first in white icing with water the second buttercream - naturally!
My Dad reveals he gets unlimited bowl licking rights and has done since he was a child - though as children we had a line drawn in the mixture and had to stay to our 'side' tricky. And when I bought one of those super efficient bowl scrapers (called 'last lick') there was outrage and uproar and I had to put back a thin coating of mixture after emptying out the bowl - of course.
